POST-DOCTORAL POSITION IN MOLECULAR AND CELLULAR BIOLOGY

Job description

The postdoctoral position is available in Anne Brelot’s group in the department of Virology. Anne Brelot‘s research focuses on the dissection of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) function and intracellular trafficking, with an emphasis on the chemoreceptors. These receptors, involved in the migration of immune cells, have been implicated in the physiopathology of several diseases, including viral infections, metabolic diseases, neurodegeneration, and cancer progression.

The candidate will work in an interdisciplinary project that aims to study the dimerization of two chemokine receptors using biochemistry, biophysics, cell biology, and live cell imaging. These studies will provide importante information on the relevance of dimerization to receptor function.

Your qualification

The successful candidate should have a doctoral degree in biology and documented experience in biochemistry, cell biology, real-time microscopy, and biophysics. A background in the molecular pharmacology of G protein-coupled receptors would be advantageous. The candidate should be able to interact with members of an interdisciplinary partnership of cell biologists, computer scientists, and inflammation experts, and possess excellent interpersonal and scientific communication skills.

The full-time position is available starting in November 2021 for a period of 2 years funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR). Salary and social benefits will be in accordance with the regulations of the Pasteur Institut.
