He focused on the structure and function of class C G protein coupled receptor, and found the allosteric modulation and asymmetric activation of class C GPCR dimers (Nature, 2021a,b; Cell Res, 2020; PNAS, 2020; Nat Commun, 2019; Nat Chem Biol, 2015; Elife, 2017; PNAS?2011).

He also investigated the novel receptors and mechanisms for light, cold temperature, odor sensory, and identified that neurotransmitter and neuropeptide receptors were important for the signal transduction and aging regulation (Cell, 2016; Cell, 2019; Nat Aging, 2021; Sci Adv, 2019; Genes Dev, 2018; Nat Commun, 2016; Nat Commun, 2015; Cell Rep, 2015).
